Brian has spent most of his working life in business as an International Finance executive living in North Carolina, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium and Finland. At the ripe old age of 60 he has made a lifestyle choice to make the Languedoc his primary base. My personal interests include landscape photography, improving my knowledge of the cathar history and tasting the regional wines. I also enjoy walking this wild landscape with my dog close to heel, visiting local markets, enjoying the many local festivals of this vibrant and diverse culture.
As a natural extension to this I would now like to offer this wonderful experience to others who wish to enrich their life in a unique setting remote from the stresses of everyday life. By using a french/english speaking guide with good local knowlege of the area, its road networks, hotels and restaurants, clients will have a greater chance of a perfect visit. The tours are designed to appeal to a broad variety of interest groups.
The magical Cite of Carcassonne is a mere 25 minutes' drive away as is the canal du Midi, and a number of regional airports make this area easily accessible for most international travellers.
I have spent much of my time in the Languedoc, famous for many quality wines including sparkling Blanquette, developed by the monks at the Abbey of Saint Hilaire some 400 years ago.The carnival in Limoux is the longest in the world, lasting from the end of January to early April. Life here moves at a slower pace, ideal for a relaxing time whilst the local people remain warm and friendly as the sun shines some 300 days a year.
